Catfish can eat almost anything it can find in nature. they are a physical characteristics of living thing. catfish teath are an real neadle teath. so if it bites you will have over 100 neadles inside your body how will that feel like to you, really bad. Catfish lay eggs really close to shore as deap as your ankle gets in the water. Once somebody steps in there eggs that when they attack with 100 sharp neadle teath. 29 sharp rays. They come in very different colors.
Growth and Morphological Development of a Catfish Abstract -In laboratoryreared larval and juvenile bighead catfish clarias macrocephalus is described. (BL) of larvae and juvenile was 3.4 +0.3 (mean + SD) mm just after hatching reaching 11.3 + 1.0 mm by day 16, and 24.2+ 2.8 mm by day 40. Overall agreggate fin ray numbers (exept for caudals fins procurrent rays) attained full complements by 15.2 mm BL. gil buds appeared on day 0, thos of barbels (four pairs) day 1 and pectoral fins on day 3 all larvae began feeding by day 3. Conical teath were observed on day 7. Notochord flexion began on day 2, the yolk being completely observed during day 7-9. Melanophores were scarce at hatching, increasing with growth to cover almost the entire body except for ventral surface of the abdominal cavity. Proportion of head length, pre-anal lenght, body depth, eye diameter, and maxillary barbel length became relatively constant after yolk absorption, those of snout length and upper jaw length increasing until ca. 12-13 mm BL and decreasing thereafter. Subrabranchial organ started developing in postflexion larval stage larger than ca. 11.0mm BL (day 16), air breathing was suggested to be functional at that time. Catfish are bottom feaders there are many kinds of catfish example. channel catfish blue catfish bullhead catfish.

Parental fish and egg collection
-eggs where obtained from a nong ten fish farming station. Aquatic Recourses Research Center. Laos on june 27 2011. having been fertillized at 0600 hours on the day (dry methods) following injection of human chrorionic gonadotrapin (20mg/kg) body weight into the lateral body wall of broodstock (two female of 24cm) SL (200grams) and 22 cm SL (190 g) some 6 hour earlier.
10,000 Fertillized Eggs were obtained being scattered on the nylon net (0.8 mm mesh) set in an incubation tank (1mm x 2mm,30cm depth.) Eggs were demersal, adehsive, and mostly spherical in shape, with diameter ranging from 1.60 to 1.75 (means + SD 1.70 + 0.06) mm (n= 10.) Hatching took place at 0500-0600 hours on 28 of june 2011 ca. 23-24h after insemination. Water tempetures during the inducced breeding period were 27.0-28.0 celcius.

In what called a growth spurt to end all growth spurts, mekong giant catfish hatchling (called fry) that have been bred in captivity have average of 400% growth rate in mere 4 months. when born in natural habitats, by the time the fish is 3/4 years old they weigth about 330-400 pounds. Giant mekong catfish are not well studied yet. But it can grow as big as 2.5 meters and 293 kg thats the biggest one found yet.

-A catfish use there fins to help them swim.
-A catfish are not usually a prey of other species because of there whiskers.
-catfish only lives in rivers or ponds.
Needs of a catfish.
(air) (water) (nutrients and energy) (habitat and shelter).
How do they get there needs?
1. They get air when they make bubbles with there mouth.
2.They live in water
3.They are vegetarions so they get energy from plants.
4.They make it inside the plants that is why you dont often see them.
